Fast and Authorized Cuba Overflight Permits
CubaFBO is a U.S.-based aviation support company with established offices in Havana, officially authorized by the Cuban Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to coordinate Cuban Overflight Permits and manage all related payment procedures.
Any aircraft operating through the Inner ADIZ (Inner FIR) of Cuban airspace must obtain a valid Cuban Overflight Permit. With direct authorization from the Cuban CAA, CubaFBO ensures a seamless, compliant, and efficient process—from application submission to permit delivery.
Our presence in both the United States and Cuba allows us to provide fast communication, secure payment handling, and reliable coordination for all Cuba Overflight Permit requests.
Why You Need a Cuba Overflight Permit?
Every aircraft flying through Cuba’s Flight Information Region (FIR) requires an official overflight permit from the Cuban Civil Aviation Authority. Cuba FBO simplifies this process, handling all official coordination directly from our office in Havana. With our expertise and direct authorization, we ensure your permit is processed quickly and correctly, so you can focus on your flight operations.
Legal Requirement:
Cuban airspace regulations mandate that all aircraft entering or overflying Cuban FIR must obtain prior authorization from IACC.
Operational Compliance:
Flying without a valid permit can result in airspace violations, route denials, and significant operational delays.
Early Coordination:
Permits should be requested at least 24-48 hours in advance to ensure timely processing and avoid last-minute complications.
How to Apply for a Permit?
To apply and purchase your Cuban Overflight Permit, please review the fee schedule below to identify the correct permit category, total cost, and any applicable expedited service fees.
All amounts are quoted in U.S. Dollars.
Once you have reviewed the fees, complete and submit the Overflight Permit Request Form provided below. Be sure to enter all required details accurately, including your Cuban OUTER ADIZ entry and exit points, flight dates, and UTC times.
The standard processing time is approximately 48 business hours after form submission.
For short-notice or urgent requests, expedited processing is available — typically within 6 hours for short-notice flights and 1 hour for critical or emergency operations.
We strongly recommend submitting your permit request well in advance whenever possible, as processing times may be slower during weekends, evenings, or Cuban public holidays.
In case of a short-notice or urgent request, please also email us immediately at ops@cubafbo.com
after submitting your form to ensure prompt coordination.
Please note that the Cuban Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) no longer guarantees permit issuance for applications submitted less than 24 hours before departure. Priority processing will always be given to Air Ambulance and MedEvac flights.
Rest assured, our operations team will act on your behalf to secure all urgent permits prior to your scheduled departure — and no charges will apply until your permit has been successfully issued.
Once approved, you will receive your permit number and payment receipt via email.
Upon receiving your permit, make sure to include it in your Flight Plan (Block 18 – Remarks section) as follows:
RMK/CUBA XXXX (where XXXX is your assigned permit number).
Permit Amendments & Revisions
Once your overflight permit has been issued, no update is required for minor operational adjustments — such as a change in departure airport, departure time, destination, or Cuban airspace routing — provided that the flight remains on the same day as the original approved schedule.
However, the following changes do require action:
- Change of Aircraft: A new permit must be purchased.
- Change of Flight Date: A USD $100 amendment fee applies per leg for any date modification.
To request a permit change, please send an email to ops@cubafbo.com
and include your permit number along with the details of your requested update.
Regulatory Compliance & Official Resources
Obtaining a Cuba overflight permit requires strict compliance with international aviation standards and Cuban civil aviation regulations. All documentation must align with official requirements to avoid delays or rejection.
